How to calculate grade point average (GPA)
A Grade Point Average is simply a numerical representation of a student's grades. Letter grades correspond to a numerical value:
A = 4
B = 3
C = 2
D = 1
F = 0
Fossil Ridge tracks GPA within each semester and overall (cumulative) over students' high school careers. This is calculated and shown on students' transcripts. Knowing your GPA is useful because most colleges state their grade requirements in terms of GPA.
