Biographical Sketch:
This will be my 11th year as a counselor at Fossil Ridge and 14th as a high school counselor. This will also be my 6th year teaching the Student Ambassadors leadership class. I am originally from the Chicago area and have lived in Colorado for 13 years. I am a fan of all Chicago sports teams but especially the Cubs. Thank goodness they finally won the World Series! I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Illinois State University and my Master’s Degree from Concordia University Chicago. I have been married to my wife Nicole for 19 years and I have two children. My son Josh will be a 9th grader here at Fossil and my daughter Eliza will be a 6th grader at Preston. Educational Background: I received my Bachelor's of Science in Sociology from Illinois State University in 1996. I then attended Concordia University River Forest in Chicago where I earned a Master's of Arts in School Counseling in 2003. Why I enjoy teaching: I enjoy working with high school students because I love helping them start to learn more about who they are and what is important to them. I also really enjoy helping students to explore their options for after they graduate. Interests & Hobbies: When I am not working I enjoy mountain biking, road riding and going on bike tours with my friends. In fact, two years ago I rode from Portland to San Francisco with Mr. Peterson and Ms. Fries. I also enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, skiing and traveling with my family. What I love about my school: Fossil Ridge is a great place to be! It is a very supportive and caring atmosphere where students have some great opportunities to learn. |
